Astralis take a 2-0 victory over fnatic, with a dominant showing on the first map (16-5 Overpass) and a hard fought victory on the second one (16-12 Mirage).
Overpass, Astralis' map pick, saw fnatic going 2-0 up on the Terrorist side after winning the pistol. Astralis came into the third one with a saved force-buy and managed to snatch it away after overloading the right bombsite with players. Winning that round setup Astralis to go on and take the lead, cruising to 7-2 as Nicolai "device" Reedtz posted a 12K-1D scoreline.
Robin "flusha" Rönnquist's double entry in the follow-up got fnatic their third round, but that would end up being all she wrote for the Swedes' Terrorist side - they didn't even manage a plant after that as Astralis locked down the map to make it 12-3 before the switch.
Two USP-S frags from Jesper "JW" Wecksell to start it off and two from Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson to close it out gave fnatic their second pistol of the game, but they were once again outclassed when the rifles rolled in. Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth added three frags to his tally as Astralis busted into B on the first gun round and his team then broke fnatic's bank by pulling off a last-second fake (14-5). With a massive advantage in rounds and economy, Astralis closed out the game easily, 16-5.
JW's aggressive CT play on the Mirage pistol round played a pivotal part in fnatic taking the first round, as he caught the bomb carrier mid-rotation, but Emil "Magisk" Reif punished some sloppiness by Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson and flusha to bounce straight back. fnatic then forced up again, using their utility perfectly to shut down an A execute, but no advantage was built, as Astralis once again replied with a force.
Force-buy rounds were traded one-for-one until the score reached 5-4, when fnatic finally managed to tie two rounds together. With that, they started building momentum, and with Maikil "Golden" Selim claiming three key kills in round 12, built on to a 10-4 lead.
Astralis claimed the last round of the first half and added onto it by getting their first pistol of the series, shrinking the deficit to 10-7, and after a small burst of rounds going fnatic's way, 12-10. The ensuing rifle round saw Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander find an entry and Xyp9x locking down B, and with that, Astralis started edging towards the win.
As the Danes reached match point, Xyp9x pushed B apartments to neutralize KRIMZ and give his team the advantage, which Astralis capitalized on to take the 16-12 victory and advance to the grand final.
